ACK I made a mistake, of course I didn't realize it until I released the video. Boba Fett does in fact show up in Episode 6 of The Book of Boba Fett, in a single scene. I believe that this game has slight pacing problems, but for the people playing 8-10 hours a day, every day, of course you’d get burnt out, you’re meant to play the game for around 30 minutes to an hour. There’s no need to grind, and the game literally tells you to Take Your Time.

While I'm sure the prince is embellishing the story here and there, I didnt think their romance was a fabrication on his part. If so, Farah wouldn't have told The Prince Kakolookiyam if she was merely playing on his good side for the game before the reset. And she rejects his advances after the reset because she hadnt spent a entire journey with him growing to love him. She doesnt know him, and shes not gullible.

A lot of the problems with Metroid Prime's world design could probably be fixed if Phendrana Drifts had one or two extra elevators connecting to the Tallon Overworld or Chozo Ruins, to reduce the amount of mandatory backtracking.

I owned 25th Anniversary as a kid, and my parents got me Judgment Rites for Christmas but somehow the wrong install disk was included and Interplay refused to replace it so my parents bought me another game and refused to buy Interplay games any more.

28 hours in and I just cannot, it didn't manage to hook me in 28 hours when will it do so? The story (from what I've played, again I didn't finish the game) is honestly subpar, and I'm willing to die on that hill alone. Why play a videogame that is 2/3rds unnecessary dialogue to elongate an arc that features characters like Ryuji, which holy hell don't get me into a tangent about him, but he's the crux of the problem when it comes to way too much dialogue. So anyways, why play a subpar story with terrible pacing and dialogue for 90 hours when you can experience a better story in much less time through the medium of cinema for example? And the combat is, as the video said, also not very good, so I don't see the appeal at all. Sorry for the rant had to get that out of my chest.

I agree with you, but my suffering was annihilated when i got the Picaro Messiah and Izanagi no Okamo Picaro, they truly made the combat game much more doable and less exhausting, i still fight the bosses with normal personas, but just skiping the unnecessary battles makes the experience much better, i got the idea to do this after playing Persona 3 and noticing how Tartarus was a pain in the ass compared to socializing in real world... Recommend you guys to try this out too, it really makes the first experience enjoyable and nice :) (Not that it wasn't enjoyable and nice btw)

I played this game as a kid on my dad's Apple ][+, and still own the original 5.25" floppy disk. I feel the need to clarify a common misconception about Akalabeth being "the first CRPG". There were actually several rather complex RPGs of the day that simply don't get the same attention, because they aren't linked to the lineage of Ultima. Robert C. Clardy was a genius CRPG developer in the same era as Garriott, and under his company Syngergistic Software published gradually more and more sophisticated CRPGs for the Apple ][. The first was "Dungeon Campaign" (1978), a rather simple (but really fun) lo-res dungeon hack in a randomized 4 level maze. Kill monsters, get treasure, dodge hazards, escape the dungeon. Super fun. Yes, that's 2 years before Akalabeth. The next one was "Wilderness Campaign" (also 1978) which swapped the chunky lo-res blocky color pixels for the Apple hi-res black and white mode (line drawings, like what was used for Akalabeth). WC was played on one static campaign map. You started in the lower right and the necromancer's palace was in the upper left. While the map never changed, the locations of explorable towns, ruins, castles and tombs changed with every game, and were filled with random events that you'd have to use inventory objects to overcome. That made each game unique and replayable. You had to recruit and equip an army, find the "oracle" which would reveal its location to you only once (so pay attention), and they oracle would provide one super weapon that could destroy the magic barrier to the necromancer's evil tower (but you could also waste your free choice on a useless magic item and create an unwinnable state). Then it's all all-out assault on the necromancer, and may the best army win. If you defeated the necromancer, you got a cool animation of the evil tower crumbling down. My favorite of the Clardy games was 1980's Odyssey: The Compleat Apventure (not misspelled) which took the concepts of DC and WC and incorporated them as subroutines into one game, and layered on a whole new sailing subroutine. Your player starts out on an island, with a layout similar to Wilderness Campaign. But after exploring and building your army up, you could by a ship, leave the island, and travel on a map to a series of other islands, with the ultimate goal of finding the island with an evil caliph and taking over his castle. Especially if you had played Wilderness Campaign, the idea of an RPG game that took place on multiple screens was pretty amazing. Yes, Akalabeth was released around this time as well, and was much, much simpler. It had the 3-D dungeons, which was pretty flash for the era, but Odyssey was a much, much more complicated and interesting game. Akalabeth was really much more like the much simpler Dungeon Campaign in gameplay (basic dungeon hack with few interesting choices to make), but I'd argue that DC (even with it's rudimentary graphics) is actually a lot more fun to play. crpgaddict.blogspot.com/search?q=wilderness+campaign There were other games as well. Temple of Apshai (1979) was a huge one at the time. There was a game called Dragon Fire published by Level 10 which added a bit of randomized narrative to a 10 level dungeon very reminiscent of Dungeon Campaign. Interesting read here: retro365.blog/2020/10/16/bits-from-my-personal-collection-dragon-fire-and-kaves-of-karkhan-from-obscurity-to-collectors-items/ So yeah, Akalabeth being the granddaddy of all CRPGs? Not by a mile.

Shenmue undoubtedly had a big impact on where games would head towards, and probably was a decade too early to implement the kinds of ambition it had (so it appeared clunky and awkward, and though it looks impressive for when it came out, it was more of a passion project than one that pandered to the average consumer.) I consider Shenmue a game designed by someone that was far too introverted for the majority of people, but also lacked self-awareness about how people might perceive it, and yet I have a love-hate relationship with the series. Though I preordered Shenmue 3 I never really "got into" it until about a year after it's release, and when I got past the Bailao (sp? It's been a while) village I started to spend more time exploring the city and came to appreciate it more. The same production hell lurched into the story development that plagued the previous games and it never seemed to fulfill what I expected of it, and it felt forced. I could never really tell if the game intentionally tries hard to be a 1980s adaption of what movies were like during that time period, or if it was how Yu Suzuki remembers the 1980s, though I still feel as though I have a better understanding of the time period in question, and in a strange way it seems like an authentic attempt at trying to recreate a time and place that seems slightly believable (such as if you took a bunch of snapshots from a time period that accurately tried to recreate a moment in time.) Though I ultimately wasn't impressed, I wanted to be, and to some extent, it seemed less forced and more like a vacation in an Asian country, in which I didn't have to constantly think I was going to be deported if I didn't look closely at the time. Yakuza Zero was very impressive and developed the story in a more convincing way, and didn't seem as autistic (or awkwardly introverted which I suspect Yu Suzuki is) as Shenmue tends to seem. The game attempted to give a much more dynamic characterization to established characters which was a decent introduction to the series for those like myself that tended to completely ignore the series until Zero came out (and though I've been interested in the rest of the series, I felt compelled by the length of Zero to not bother with it.) Shenmue differentiated itself by it's pacing and more realistic portrayal of life the setting is based on, even if it's still a hammy 1980s-inspired setting. The story in Yakuza was interesting enough without entirely overstaying the tolerance for story development, and yet it seemed to allow exploration while giving some levity to explore side curiosities (such as the arcade.) Whether comparisons are made between the series is due to the setting being a retro-Japan when Sega was still dominating the arcades (and just before Japan had their own economic crash which might be a reflection on where Sega viewed its situation over the years) It's perhaps a time period that still implores the audience to want to relate to the backstory of the characters, knowing that such a world now only exists in video games. A lot of what the Yakuza series seems to be inspired from is where Rockstar games have been going, and technology has come a long way with the dialogue sequences. The game still look like typical console games, and sometimes the PC adaptations very different with some updates (games like Witcher 3 or Red Dead Redemption 2 are surprisingly engrossing, almost to the point of burn out with the content.) Shenmue often feels forced to continue at times, as the character dynamic is a bit too static with the protagonist. Games like Yakuza kind of invite the player to choose what to do, which makes it easier at times, so Shenmue is kind of "on rails."

Combat is definitely not the issue tho. This is one of those games where you actually shouldn't just spam attacks as if it was pokemon or something. You gotta buff your allies, debuff the enemy, inflicting status, combo out of them with technical hits, and sure the typical check enemy weakness. It even scales amazingly cause the further you get the less you can rely on just hitting the correct element and then all out attack, and every damn typical party member is balanced perfectly and has a role to play throught the game (For instance, even if Ryuji is most likely better than Yusuke in the late game, Yusuke is better through the mid game, a long ass portion of the game, and if u invest a little on him He's basically as good as ryuki anyway). So yeah, combat is actually really great, It's def not the issue.

So spoilers: 1. Game begins with Joker being captured, and He's remembering how everything happened as we play. This inmediately makes u look up to reaching that moment, and when the Casino palace hapens, you've already beaten 5 really long ones, investing about 60 or more hours (Def more). That moment when Joker is captured is set up from the beginning as the key moment in the story, the bridge towards our climax, our final mision... And the game straight up tells It, *this is our last mission*. Shido and Akechi had the build up no other villain had appart from Kamoshida as well, so you have all the elements for one last mision, being the ship palace (And once again, you're told It's the end). Game even tries to fool u into thinking Shido is actually the last boss by using a, up to that point, unique OST. And then, It just isn't, there's MORE. 2. The ship palace was already reaaally long, and after trying to fool u with that OST, game throwing ANOTHER palace right afterwards feels like a drag, It was not necessary, despite it being easily the shortest one. Regardless you get to the final boss of the palace and okay, could've just gone straight to It through a couple mementos sections or something, but ok, we are here... except ITS NOT THE END YET. You get beaten, several cutscenes happen, alright, I cleared the last palace so once all this ends I'll have the actual final battle... except NOT, once again. First you gotta see sumaries of the PT's journeys and growth, somewhat redundant btw, and after that you are finally able to... NO. First you have to go through 3 or 4 phases each with some enemies and a boss in the end, and to make things worse, these bosses can fully heal. AND THEN, FINALLY, you get to the final battle. It's a damn mess. I saved Shido's palace for a sunday (Irl I mean) so I had the time to see the end of the game... and went from 9 am to 5 am of the next day Because damn game kept telling me "Hold on, It's about to end, this is our last last last mission". This is bs story telling, being quite honest; Set up an ending, burn out of everything you've set up (Akechi, Shido, Sae and Jokers capture), then throwing 10-15 more hours of content cause yes and dragging It ON and ON, they couldn't even just make the stuff after shido a small explore section and a 2 stage boss fight, no, they had to throw a 1000 other bs in there. How to solve this? Easy as heck. 1. Don't tell the player shido is our final mission. 2. right afterwards make Morgana state that He has the feeling that, indeed, things won't end with Shido. Edit: How to improve on It further? Get rid of EITHER: Haru and the Okumuras palace (Sorry Haru I love u), or Yusuke and Madarames palace (Sorry yusuke i love u even more). Then get rid of kaneshiros palace and make Makoto join in the Sae palace cause she ends up having 2 palaces the way things are. That leaves you with Kamoshida, Madarame, Futaba (the whole medjed thing, Its a conflict with the actual villains, not some randoms), Sae, SHIDO as the fifth, not seventh!, then mementos. 6 palaces, around the time the game starts overstaying Its welcome (IN the actual game, Saes is the 6th palace, and pretty sure most people would rather have an epic final boss after that many hours, rather than 2 whole goddamn long quests)
